Sandy Guinto

Sandy connects educators with industry partners to bring authentic, career-connected STEM learning to Ohio classrooms. A veteran educator who spent more than a decade teaching in a STEM-designated school, she joined Battelle in 2022 with a focus on expanding opportunities for economically disadvantaged students. Sandy developed the Battelle Teacher Academy to help teachers collaborate directly with industry, and manages the statewide OSLN Design Challenge, which engages more than 30,000 students annually in solving real-world problems. During her teaching career, she created makerspaces, including an MIT FAB-Lab affiliate, and developed curriculum embedding hands-on learning into grade-level standards.
