A new fellowship connected to national laboratories

Super Intelligence (SI), the next generation of artificial intelligence, can transform scientific discovery and engineering. To stay competitive, the United States needs more students with strong STEM foundations and the skills to use SI responsibly, ethically and effectively.

Battelle and three Battelle-managed national laboratories are building a competitive fellowship for high school students. Fellows will build skills in SI and in a science or engineering field, learn alongside researchers and explore paths to college and STEM careers.

Program design

Fellows will:

  • Take on research and problem-solving connected to a national laboratory
  • Work directly with scientists
  • Learn as part of a structured student cohort
  • Combine virtual and in-person learning
  • Connect to college and career pathways in STEM and SI

Each laboratory builds on its own research strengths and student programs. Battelle Education coordinates the shared fellowship network.
